The California Film Awards is currently accepting film and video submissions in all categories, lengths and genres for the 2013 Competition.

The California Film Awards also accepts electronic entries. Please email us the completed Entry Form along with a digital file of your project or link to where we can view your film online (YouTube, Vimeo, etc).  Our email address for submissions is info@www.calfilmawards.com.

Submission Deadlines

Early Deadline - April 25, 2013
Regular Deadline - July 25, 2013
Late Deadline - October 25, 2013
Extended Deadline - November 20, 2013

Fees
Feature film are over 50 minutes.
Shorts films are under 50 minutes.

Early Deadline:  Short $30 / Feature $35
Regular Deadline:  Short $35 / Feature $40
Late Deadline:  Short $40 / Feature $45
Extended Deadline:  Short $55 / Feature $60


Competition Rules and Conditions

Entrants retain all of their rights, title and interest in their works and intellectual property.

All fiction, documentary, and short films of any form or genre can apply to the California Film Awards.  Films should have been completed no earlier than three years prior to the submission date.

Works in progress are accepted.

Awarded films and filmmakers are announced publicly at our annual Awards Ceremony and Filmmakers Dinner.  The California Film Awards reserves the right to display clips of awarded films at its annual Awards Ceremony and Filmmakers Dinner  The Awards Ceremony is open to all media.

All foreign and international entrants must clearly label their packages "No commercial value. For cultural purposes only."

The cost of shipping an entry to the California Film Awards must be paid by the entrant.  All international entries must be sent with all transportation charges, duties, and taxes prepaid by the shipper.

Students receive a $10 discount.  Please include a copy of your student ID.

DVDs and videos must be clearly labeled with name of film, running time and contact information.

The entry fee is nonrefundable.

Submission copies will not be returned.

More than one entry may be submitted.  Each entry must have its own submission form filled out and fee paid.

Entrants agree to indemnify and hold us, including our employees, our officers, and our  partners and affiliates harmless against all claims arising out of entry or participation in the California Film Awards.

The filmmaker will assume shipping costs of material and print to the California Film Awards.

Films produced in languages other than English should have legible English subtitles.

Entrants are responsible for obtaining any necessary licenses, royalties, release forms, clearances, permits necessary to present their work.

The selection committees’ and juries’ decisions are final.

Awarded films are not screened for the public.

The California Film Awards reserves the right to make any necessary changes in regulations or scheduling.

Please do not send press kits or photos.  If your film is selected we will contact you to request press materials.

Submission of a film or screenplay to the California Film Awards implies express understanding and acceptance to all competition rules and conditions.
